Feels Like Home event a pilot for the Lifescape philosophy

On 18-21 April, the Feels Like Home event takes place in Boxtel, the Netherlands. The event aims to raise the awareness of people about the National Landscape Het Groene Woud, living a sustainable life, and living in Europe. The Feels Like Home programme consists of a large-scale series of sub-events which are aimed at traditional citizens and non-agricultural companies in the area of the National Landscape Het Groene Woud; target groups that are important but often not focused on.

The Lifescape - Your Landscape project supports this event, as it has the objectives to raise the awareness of citizens about the landscape, explore business opportunities and involve people and the local community with their landscape. Therefore, the Feels Like Home event is a field test of the Lifescape philosophy for a large public audience.

The programme consists of a day for professionals (Friday 18 April 2008) and two days for the general public (Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 April).

Friday consists of workshops and visits related to biodiversity, sustainability and working together in Europe and will, amongst others, focus on sustainable building, spatial planning, biodiversity and businesses, energy and green roofs. The programmes on Saturday and Sunday consist of theatre performances, exhibitions, activities for children, lectures, information stands (e.g regional products) and workshops.
